Dr. Ekmel Geçer is a distinguished scholar in media, communication, and psychology, currently serving at Marmara University. He holds a Ph.D. from Loughborough University. His research focuses on media studies, social psychology, and the intersection of media and society, particularly the impact of media on public opinion and cultural identity. Prof. Geçer has actively participated in numerous international conferences, presenting on topics such as political communication, media representation, and sociological aspects of news production. He is the author of several books, including “Taboos and Coffins: Psychopathology of Everyday Life,” “Popular Culture, Media, and Psychology,” and “Handbook of Social Psychology.” His work significantly contributes to understanding the psychological dimensions of media consumption, technological privacy, and political psychology.
